Drawing on the benefits of performance yarns and construction in the rest of the Genus clothing collection we built on that knowledge to develop our own performance gardening sock for all day wear.

We carefully chose a blend of non-mulesed merino wool and polyamide for its excellent temperature regulation – keeping feet toasty warm in winter and preventing heat build-up in summer, it has also been plated with a polypropylene yarn for extra durability and stretch.

The sock has been engineered to create different zones within the sock that offer extra functional benefits:

Security - The cuff is deep to hold the top of the sock securely and an elasticated section around the arch of the foot holds the socks in position on the foot and stops the sock from twisting or bunching in wear and pulling off with your boots.

Fit - The calf-length sock has a 3-D heel cup that is shaped to cradle your heel and prevents excess bulk and sock slippage.

Comfort - The ankle is ribbed for comfort around the leg and there is elasticated articulation at the front ankle to minimise bunching during wear.  We’ve added a looped knit construction from the back of the ankle through to the top of the toe which further improves the temperature control by holding moisture away from the foot; adds extra cushioning for all day comfort and by holding moisture away from the foot helps to prevent blisters.

The toe seam is flat which creates a soft join to help avoid bulk or chafing in this area and open mesh ventilation channels have been added to the top of the foot which not only aids temperature regulation but also reduces bulk around the foot.

Durability - The toe and the heel have both been reinforced with polyamide yarn for extra durability in those higher wear areas.
